Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the aitoolarea website, platform, and all related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by the operator identified in the Imprint ("aitoolarea", "we", "us", "our").

By registering an account, accessing the Service, or clicking "I agree," you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and references to "you" include that organization.

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use aitoolarea. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

You must not be located in a country or region subject to a trade embargo or sanctions that would prohibit use of the Service.

To access most features of aitoolarea, you need to create an account by providing a valid email address and a password (or by authenticating via a supported OAuth provider). You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with others.
• Notify us immediately at security@aitoolarea.com of any unauthorized use of your account.
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

aitoolarea reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate these Terms, or show signs of fraudulent activity.

aitoolarea is an AI-powered CV (curriculum vitae / résumé) generation platform. The Service allows you to:

• Input your professional experience, skills, education, and other career information.
• Use AI to generate, rewrite, and optimize CV content tailored to specific job roles.
• Preview your CV in multiple professional templates.
• Export your CV as a PDF or other supported formats.
• Store multiple CV projects in your account and iterate on them over time.

You agree to use aitoolarea only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information in your CV (e.g. fabricating qualifications or employment history).
• Use the Service to create CVs on behalf of other people for commercial or deceptive purposes without their knowledge and consent.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, our servers, databases, or third-party systems.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Service.
• Introduce viruses, malware, or any harmful code into the Service.
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or similar tools to access or extract data from the Service without our written permission.
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service or interfere with other users.
• Use the Service in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
• Engage in any conduct that is discriminatory, harassing, abusive, or otherwise harmful to others.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who violates this policy, including suspending or terminating their account and reporting violations to law enforcement authorities.

6.1 Ownership of your data

You retain full ownership of all personal information, career data, CV content, and documents you submit to aitoolarea ("Your Content"). You grant aitoolarea a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you (e.g. sending it to the AI provider to generate text).

The AI-generated CV content produced by the Service is provided for your personal use. To the extent permissible by law, you own the rights to the final, edited CV you create using the Service. However, we make no guarantees about the uniqueness, originality, or non-infringement of raw AI outputs.

6.4 aitoolarea intellectual property

The Service, including its design, source code, algorithms, templates, branding, and all other materials (excluding Your Content), is the exclusive property of aitoolarea or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

7.1 Free tier

aitoolarea may offer a free tier with limited features. Free-tier features and limits may change at any time with reasonable notice.

7.2 Paid subscriptions

Paid subscriptions grant access to additional features as described on the Pricing page. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

7.3 Auto-renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time via your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will not be charged again after cancellation but retain access until the period ends.

7.4 Refunds

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new paid subscriptions. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 7 days of your first payment at billing@aitoolarea.com for a full refund. Subsequent renewals are non-refundable unless required by applicable consumer protection law.

7.5 Price changes

We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice. Price changes will not apply to your current billing period — they take effect upon renewal.

aitoolarea integrates with third-party services (e.g. OpenAI for AI generation, Stripe for payments). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party services.

In particular, AI-generated content is produced by OpenAI's models and is subject to OpenAI's usage policies. You agree not to use AI-generated output in ways that violate those policies.

In particular, we do not guarantee that:

• AI-generated CV content will be suitable for any specific job application or employer.
• CVs generated through the Service will pass ATS (applicant tracking system) screening.
• Using the Service will result in job interviews, employment, or any career outcome.
• The Service will always be available or that data will never be lost.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, aitoolarea and its operators, employees, contractors, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) €50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain liabilities, so the above limitations may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless aitoolarea and its operators, employees, contractors, and licensors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.
• Content you submit to the Service (including any claims that Your Content infringes third-party rights).
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.

12.1 Termination by you

You may delete your account at any time via your account settings or by contacting us at contact@aitoolarea.com. Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

12.2 Termination by aitoolarea

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if:

• You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.
• We are required to do so by law or court order.
• Continued provision of the Service to you creates legal or reputational risk for aitoolarea.

If we terminate your account without cause, we will provide a pro-rated refund of any unused prepaid subscription time.

12.3 Effect of termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will endeavor to give reasonable advance notice of material changes.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator is located (see Imprint), without regard to its conflict of law principles.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you benefit from any mandatory provisions of the consumer protection laws of your country of residence, which cannot be overridden by these Terms.

We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any dispute. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve any issues amicably. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the operator's location, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and aitoolarea regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.

Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may freely assign our rights and obligations (e.g. in connection with a merger or acquisition).

Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only. In case of conflict, the English version prevails.
